Obituary of Dorothy Jones


Winterville - Dorothy S. Jones, 85, died February 19, 2005.A native of Warren County, GA, she was a daughter of the late John and Ethel Shelton. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. V. Jones; two sisters, Mary Chalker and Aubrey Scott; three brothers, Booster Shelton, Jack Shelton, and Tom Shelton. Mrs. Jones was a retired nurse and was of the Primitive Baptist faith.Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 22, 2005, at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Rev. Lloyt Johnson will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.Survivors include a son, J. T. Shepherd of Jefferson; stepson, Ronnie Jones of Athens; stepdaughter, Peggy Hulsey of Colbert; eight grandchildren, Vickie Garcia, John T. Shepherd, Jr., both of Madison, GA, Linda Callaway, Darren Kitchens, both of Colbert, Tina Little of Decatur, Anjela Ellis of Oxford, Ronnie Jones and Jamie Jones, both of Athens; eight great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Larry Jones, David Jones, Stanton Jones, Sammy Jones, Lynn Massy and Mike Jones.Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Alzheimerís Association or Egleston Childrenís Hospital.The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
