July 4, 2005 Dorothy Jean Smith, 87, of Elbow Rd. Apts, North Syracuse, NY, died Monday in North Syracuse. Born in Pittsburg, PA, she was the daughter of August and Ida (Proyelska) Survinski, and lived in the Syracuse area since 1979. Shewas a switchboard operator, employed by Joseph Horn Co., Syracuse, NY. Survived by one son, Melvin C. Smith of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Marjorie Brand of Lakewood, CA; and one brother, Regis Survinski of Pittsburg, PA; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima, 409 S. Main Street, North Syracuse. Interment will be Thursday in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt.
