SIMMONDS Dorothy Jean (Geiste) Simmonds, age 87, passed away on December 28, 2010. Dorothy was born in Harrisburg, Pa. to Thomas and Loureda Geiste. Dorothy was a Milford resident for 16 years, and had previously lived in Stratford for more than 50 years. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Claude. Mrs. Simmonds is survived by her children and their spouses, Donald and Nancy Simmonds of Huntington, Loureda Simmonds of Vermont, Claudia and Richard Stewart of Oxford, Cynthia and Joseph Zullo of Milford, and Sylvia Simmonds of Ansonia. Dorothy had nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Elda Smith of Stratford. Services will be private. Dorothy's family wishes to thank the Milford Hospital and Masonicare Staff for their kind and gentle care of their mother.
