Dorothy Johnson Dorothy Johnson Dorothy Lillian Johnson, everyones favorite lady, died in her sleep on October 20, 2011. She was 97 1/2 years young. Dot was born on April 2, 1914 in Bath ME. She married Kenneth Colby of Rangeley, ME in 1945, and they had a daughter Judith in 1949. Dot lived in Lexington for 35 years and it was here on Pine Knoll Rd that she raised her daughter. She was an active member of the Hancock Congregational Church. In 1953, a bible study discussion regarding Keeping Christ in Christmas, led to her heading an effort to establish a tradition of placing the Nativity on the Battle Green every year. She was a teacher of kindergarten in both Lexington and Needham. She was lovingly known as a dear friend, a second mom and as Nan Banan. She is survived by her daughter Judy Colby-Walker, son-in-law Thomas Walker, granddaughters Colby Derrig, Mallory Vaccaro and her husband Tony, great granddaughters Cassandra and Delaney Derrig and Lillian and Alexandra Vaccaro. A memorial service is planned for 3:00 PM, Monday Nov. 7th at Woodfords Congregational Church in Portland, and her interment is arranged for 11:00 AM, Wednesday, Nov. 9th at Westview Cemetery in Lexington Massachusetts. Arrangements are by Independent Death Care of Maine, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland, Maine.
