She was born on March 23, 1922 in Bassett, VA to the late John Daniel and Lucy Clara Smith. In addition to her parents, she was proceded in death by her husband Chris W. Ingram, seven brothers and three sisters-in-law.Survivors include her only son, Donald W. Ingram; grandson Chris W. Ingram (Nikki) and great-grandson Tyler Ingram; also, nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.She was a member of Plainview Baptist Church.Dorothy retired from Pensacola Junior College after 32 years of service. She was selected for Boss of the year and Employee of the year. She attended many seminars for the college. She was a long time member of the A.B.W.A. She was elected the chapter's woman of the year. She also worked diligently on the scholarship committee.She will be remembered as being adventurous and creative. She enjoyed working in the yard with flowers, feeding the birds, and giving her dog (Luke) special attention. Her most treasured pleasure was her great-grandson Tyler.A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 10-11am with services beginning at 11:00am at Plainview Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Flannigan officiating.Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.Special thanks to Patty, Danny, Evelyn, Stacy, Rose, Cindy of Covenant Hospice.Express your condolences in our guestbook at pnj.com/obits
