Dorothy Helen (Liles) Hopper, age 75, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., passed away Friday, July 11, 2008. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Dorothy was born on Jan. 24, 1933, in Coffeeville, Miss., to Frances and Early Mae (McMahan) Liles. She was the loving wife of the late, Clarence J. Hopper (CJ). Dorothy moved to Florida in 1981, where she worked in electronic assembly at Keltec in Fort Walton Beach for 25 years. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Frances and Early Mae; her daughter, Caron C. Scott; her three brothers, Sammy, Frank Jr., and Ray; and her sister, Catherine. She is survived by her two sons, Dennis S. Foster and Christopher C. Hopper; her three daughters, Deborah K. Simpson, Cathy M. Bateson and Collette C. Malone; her three sisters, Frances E. Ferguson, Ivy N. Sims and Patricia A. Liles; her three brothers, James H. Liles, William G. Liles and John W. Lyles; 30 nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A small gathering will be held at McLaughlin Mortuary on Thursday, July 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. In honor of her wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest in Coffeeville next summer at the family reunion on July 3. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Clear Springs Baptist Church, in care of Deborah Simpson, P.O. Box 637, New Albany, IN 47151. Arrangements are entrusted to McLaughlin Mortuary, 17 Chestnut Ave., Fort Walton Beach.
