Obituary of Dorothy-E. Johnson


JOHNSON-Dorothy E. (nee Schultz) Age 90 passed away peacefully in Greensboro, NC in the presence of her family. She was a longtime resident of Cheektowaga and Buffalo native. She attended Hutch-Tech High School, and member of The Chapel in Amherst. A devoted homemaker raising her family in the Cleveland Hill area of Cheektowaga for over 60 years, Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Victor G. Johnson for 66 years and dear mother of Duane Johnson (Bellingham, WA), Diane Kennedy (Gaithersburg, MD), Dwight Johnson (Buffalo, NY), Dean Johnson (Buffalo, NY), Dawn Waegerle (Greensboro, NC) and Darlene Hunt (Greensboro, NC); proud and loving grandmother of 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; predeceased by sole sibling, Marian Schwab (nee Schultz); also survived by sister-in-law Mary Johnson and nieces and nephews. Dorothy's unique decorated cakes graced many a wedding and various special events for over 20 years. Friends may visit with the family on Friday evening, September 14, 7-9 PM at C. MERTZ & SON FUNERAL HOME, 911 Englewood Avenue, Buffalo, (716) 836-2935 with a graveside burial service at Acacia Park & Memorial Gardens, 4215 Tonawanda Creek Rd., North Tonawanda, NY (716) 692-0511 on Saturday, September 15 at 10:00 AM.
