Jordan, Dorothy Dunson, 81, of Rome, GA died Monday, July 14, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Jordan was born in LaGrange, GA daughter of the late A.G. "Pete" Dunson, Sr and Florence Anchors Dunson. Mrs. Jordan was married to S. Kelly Jordan October 15, 1949 and preceded in death by him August 26, 1997. Mrs. Jordan followed her husband's career and lived in nine cities in five states including Atlanta, Columbus, and Summerville, GA before finally settling in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1972. She had been a resident of Rome, GA since 1998 where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rome, the Adult Fellowship Class and Circle 7, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and several other clubs, including Coosa Country Club where she enjoyed many games of bridge. Mrs. Jordan was a graduate of Duke University. She taught school in Virginia and Georgia (second and third grade, high school English and journalism) and sold real estate in Atlanta and Ft. Lauderdale. She was a multi-million dollar producer and won trips to Hawaii, Italy, and Martinique. Mrs. Jordan is survived by two sons S. Kelly Jordan, Jr. of Atlanta, Bradford Jordan (Susan) of Lexington, KY and daughter Nancy Ham (Kenneth) of Boston, MA; granddaughter Lucy Jordan of Austin, TX; two brothers Sanford "Bubba" Dunson and wife Martha Ann of Rome, GA and A.G. "Pete" Dunson, Jr. and wife Barbara of Ellijay, GA along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church of Rome with Reverend Jane Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 until 2 PM in the Wilder Center of the First United Methodist Church. Private entombment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park in Atlanta.
