-><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Anderson, Dorothy D.Dorothy D. Anderson, longtime resident of Yorktown Heights, NY passed away December 8th, 2014. She was 92 years old. Mrs. Anderson worked as the Assistant Branch Manager for People's Westchester Savings Bank until she retired in 1987. She was a lifelong member of the Yorktown Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. Mrs. Anderson was born in 1922 in Yonkers, NY to John and Mary Degbrinner. She graduated from Yorktown High School in 1941. In 1945, she married Oscar Anderson at the United Methodist Church in Yorktown Heights, NY. Mrs. Anderson will be remembered for her service to the town of Yorktown, love of gardening, being a warm and caring mother, grandmother and friend, and her pride in both her Polish heritage and being an American. She is survived by her grandson John Michael Anderson and daughter-in laws Sue-Merrill Brunkhorst and Anne Anderson. She was preceded by her husband Oscar and son John Michael Sr. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.Calling hours are Friday, December 12th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown Heights. The funeral is Saturday, December 13th at 10:30am, also at Clark Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Amawalk Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind and the Wounded Warrior Project. Donation envelopes will be available at the viewing and funeral service.
