Obituary of Dorothy Carter

Business OwnerPALATKA -- Mrs. Dorothy D. Carter of Palatka, formerly of Lakeland, died of cancer Wednesday (Aug. 23, 2006) at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka. She was 86.Born in Jackson, Miss., on Oct. 25, 1919, she lived in Lakeland before moving to Palatka. She owned several businesses. She was a member of Peniel Baptist Church in Palatka.Mrs. Carter is survived by her daughter, Loretta Corbin, Palatka; sisters, Estelle Smith, Doris Reddington, both of Lakeland; four grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Masters Funeral Home, Palatka. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
