She was born April 14, 1923 in Great Falls, SC to the Late Banks McElwain Robbins, Sr. and Alice Jeanette Peay.Mrs. Bartlett was a graduate of Great Falls High School. She worked over 25 years for the Department of the Air Force as a meteorological technician in the General Data Unit at the Federal Building in Asheville, NC.Until her illness, she was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and participated fully in the life of the church as a member of the choir and other church activities. Her greatest joy was being with her church family as well as her own.She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles Henry Bartlett, Jr. and all eight of her brothers and sisters.She is survived by her sons, Keith Bartlett and daughter-in-law, Lynda of Parrottsville, TN and Stan Bartlett and daughter-in-law, Donna of Greensboro, NC; her grandchildren: Major Benjamin Bartlett and wife Jenny, currently serving in the US Air Force, Jake and Clare Bartlett of Parrottsville, TN; step grandchildren: Michael and Annaliegh Herron, of Burlington, NC, R.C. McCabe of Greensboro, NC and Benjamin and wife Christy Susong of Morristown, TN; great grandchildren: Aaron Albright, Andrew and Jacee Susong.There will be a graveside service at Lewis Memorial Park on Thursday May 8, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Rev. In-Young Lee the Pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church will officiate.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory and honor of Dorothy to Caris Hospice, 816 Middle Creek Rd, Sevierville, TN 37862.
