BARTLETT, Dorothy Millicent Dorothy Millicent Bartlett passed away peacefully on Monday, May 7, 2012 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. Dorothy lived a long and fruitful life as a native Calgarian. She was born October 4, 1919, married George Arthur Bartlett in August of 1941 and spent eight years in Toronto while George attended the University of Toronto. Following graduation, George and Dorothy returned to Calgary with two daughters, Joanne and Julie (Dan). Dorothy's son David (Catherine) was born in Calgary. Dorothy's remaining years were spent joyfully in the company of her family and her many long-standing friends. Dorothy always held a strong connection to Grace Presbyterian Church and was very proud of her parents' involvement in the construction and evolution of the church and its history. Dorothy's greatest joy came from being in the company of her five grandchildren and their partners and her six great-grandchildren. Many occasions and celebrations were spent in the company of the whole family so Dorothy's connection to each of the young family members was very strong and she so often spoke of her immense pride in her family. Dorothy spent the last five years in the Wentworth Manor and the family wishes to acknowledge the fine care and support and the lovely friendships that developed. Dorothy, until her very last day, spent many hours involved in the many activities and events hosted by the Wentworth and became an integral part of the Wentworth community.
