Dorothy Ann Eaton, 84, passed away peacefully at The President Oaks (Odd Fellows Home) in Concord on March 9, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Oct. 5, 1927, in Newport, RI. Later she moved to Hopkinton, were she met her late husband, Leslie Eaton.She was a member of the Women's Golden Group of Hopkinton and the Contoocook Emerson Hill Club. She was a prior member of the First Congregational Church of Hopkinton, where she sang and taught Sunday school.Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an accomplished cook and baker, and she was well known for her Christmas cookies.She leaves four children;, David L. Eaton and his wife, Nancy, of Madbury, Cindy A. Bartecchi (Eaton) and her husband, Ken, of Kingston, Steve B. Eaton and his wife, Debbie, of New Ipswich, and Joan L. Gullison (Eaton) of West Warwick, R.I. She also leaves seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews, who will all miss her.Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Holt-Woodbury Funeral home and Cremation Service in Henniker.A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home in Henniker.Burial will be in spring in Hopkinton Old Cemetery, Hopkinton.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to The Presidential Oaks, 200 Pleasant St., Concord, 03301.For more log on to holtwoodburyfh.com.
