Dorothy Anderson, 81, formerly of Highland and 14 year resident of Lake Village, passed away suddenly, Monday, Dec. 19, 2011. She is survived by children, Paul Jr. (Elaine) of Lowell, Murl of Lowell and Meda (Greg) Long of Kankakee; grandchildren, Courtney and Eric (Rachel) Anderson, Elizabeth (Jacob) Dunlap, Timothy and Dianna Long and four great-grandchildren. Dorothy was a devoted mother and grandmother who was known for her generosity with family and friends. She was a former member of the Highland Church of the Nazarene where she was the secretary for many years. Over the years she was involved with PTA, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. Cremation will precede visitation Thursday, Dec. 22, from 3-6 p.m., concluding with a Memorial Service at 6 p.m. at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 604 E. Commercial Ave. in Lowell, with Pastor Todd Peeler officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Lake Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons Intl. or Audubon Society for her love of birds.
