Dorothy A. Murphy, 80, of New Britain, died on Aug. 11, 2010, surrounded by her loving family at home.She was born in Dickson City, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Carl and Sophie (Brezinski) Kozlowski. She worked as a clerk for Allstate Insurance Co. for several years. She was a devoted member of St. Francis of Assisi, Roman Catholic Church, New Britain.She is survived by her beloved husband, Frederick J. Murphy, her son, Edward Murphy, both of New Britain; her two daughters, Theresa Cordner and her husband, Alan, of Bristol, Christine Jakubiec and her husband, Steven, of Haddam; her three granddaughters, Amy McBride and her husband, John, of Wake Forest, N.C., Nicole Cordner, of Bristol, and Caitlin Murphy, of Cooperstown, N.Y.; her three sisters, Adeline Hughes, of Laurel Springs N.J., Sophie Kuchinski, of Hollywood, Fla., and Lorraine DeMicco, of Plainville; her brother, Carl Kozlowski and his wife, Lena, of New Britain; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Raymond and Chester Kozlowski, and daughter-in-law, Lynn Murphy.The funeral was held Aug. 14, 2010, at the Paul A. Shaker/Farmingdale Funeral Home, New Britain, followed by a Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, New Britain. Committal service and final resting place was in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
