Dorothy A. Hubbard formerly of Kirkwood Dorothy Ayres (Havens) Hubbard, 95, answered the Lord's call on December 25, 2007. Born in Owego, N.Y., she was predeceased by her parents, John and Bessie (Kellogg) Havens; her loving husband of 61 years, William; her brother, Charles Havens; sister, Helen Poehls; niece and her husband, Helen and Jim Mullens; nephew, Fred Kroplin; and special friend, Joe Griffin. She is survived by several nieces, Jean Arnold, Barton, Grace Wright, Athens, Pa.; and nephew, John Havens, Waverly; and other nieces, Eileen Galpin, Ocklawaha, Fla., Willa Sansoucci, Newfield, and Jeannie Kroplin, Stuart, Va. Dorothy graduated from Owego Free Academy in 1930 and was employed by JC Penney Company for 30 years. She enjoyed music, dancing, bowling, traveling, and outdoor work. She would like to thank her many good friends for their love and care over the years, Evelyn Knowlton, Ed and Doris Conroy, Bob and Mary Barton, Loren and Millie Hubbard, and special friend, Pat Griffin. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff on ACF 4 and Level C of Good Shepherd-Fairview Home for the excellent care they gave Dorothy. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor, N.Y. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday, 9-10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dorothy's name may be made to Good Shepherd-Fairview Home Foundation in care of Eileen, 80 Fairview Ave., Binghamton, N.Y. 13904.
