Doris Stewart - Pitt County - Doris "Boots" Oakley Stewart, 75, died Sunday, June 21, 2009. Mrs. Stewart, a native of Pitt County, lived most of her adult life in Rockledge, Florida. She returned to Pitt County in 1999. Mrs. Stewart enjoyed playing golf, bowling, reading, and taking long walks. She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Stewart; son, Darrel Carl Stewart and wife, Cindy, of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Cindy Sue Stewart, of Rockledge, FL; grandchildren, Michele Bostrom, Holly and Ryan Stewart; great-granddaughter, Mireya Vargus; brothers, Andrew Oakley, of Goldsboro, and John P. Oakley and wife, Kathy, of Greenville; sisters, Minnie Hellickson, and Eula Heath and husband, Norman, all of Greenville; and best friend, Lolly Fullmer, of Rockledge, FL. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 27th, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Florida Memorial Funeral Home in Rockledge. A committal service will begin at 11 a.m., at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge.
