Obituary of Doris Quinn


LEOMINSTER -- Doris “Joan” Quinn died on Feb. 8 at HealthAlliance Hospital/Leominster after a brief illness. Born Doris Joan Bursey to Arthur and Doris H. (Butt) Bursey on Nov. 20, 1937, she spent her youth in Everett, graduating from Everett High School in June of 1955. She spent two years studying nursing at Boston University. She married Harold E. Quinn on April 14, 1962, and briefly lived in New Jersey before settling in Leominster. She was widowed on Dec. 29, 1996. She was very involved with her family, and volunteered in the Leominster school system for a period of time. Her only child, Holly Beth, was married to Paul J. Cosenza on July 31, 1987, until she was widowed on Jan. 12, 2005. Joan is survived by her brothers, Arthur Bursey of Florida and Robert Bursey and his wife Betty of Virginia; her daughter, Holly B. Cosenza of Leominster, and Holly’s boyfriend, David B. Koski of Rindge, N.H.; her son-in-law Paul’s family, mother, Gilda Cosenza, brother and spouse, Joseph, and Debra Cosenza and nephew, David Cosenza, all of Leominster; her three nieces Robin Fonner, Heather Lopane and Tara Bursey; and her six beloved grand nephews. QUINN -- As per Joan’s request, no funeral services were planned. Burial was private on Feb. 14 at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody. Arrangements entrusted to the William R. Carafa & Son Home For Funerals, 389 Washington Ave., Chelsea.
