Obituary of Doris Peterson


Colbert - Doris Peterson, 75, died November 8, 2005.A native of Demorest, GA, she was a daughter of the late Artis and Sarah Jeanette York Mobley. She was a longtime member of North Gardens Wesleyan Church, Greenville, SC, where she was the pianist for 10 years. She was owner and operator of Camelot Restaurant in Athens, GA, and was bookkeeper, with her former husband, at Davis House Cafeteria for many years. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelby Jean Butler.Funeral services will be Thursday, November 10, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Lord & Stephens, Danielsville. Rev. Bill Hayes will officiate. Entombment will be in Athens Memory Gardens.Survivors include her husband, Joseph Harold Peterson; two daughters, Tommie Carol Butler Axelburg of Lake Keowee, SC; Terri Ann Butler Chandler of Danielsville, two stepsons, Wayne Peterson of Dahlonega and Alan Peterson of Dawsonville; brothers, Bobby Mobley and Kenny Mobley, both of South Carolina; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Lord & Stephens, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
