CLARK Doris Merwin Clark, a lifelong resident of Milford, died on Thursday, September 4, 2003, after a long illness. Miss Clark was born on November 7, 1912, the eldest child of the late Amy Wilcox Clark and Raymond Henry Clark. Descended from a family whose ancestors were among the early settlers of Milford, Doris was a member of the Freelove Baldwin Stow Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Milford First United Church of Christ Congregational. In addition, she was an avid gardener and active in the Garden Club. Miss Clark worked for the Southern New England Telephone Co. for more than 40 years. Survivors include her niece, Susan Clark Wineland of Orange; nephews, Russell Clark of Arizona, Peter Waas of Virginia, David Waas of Maryland, Chris Waas of Washington, Paul Dumont of Ohio, and Bruce Dumont of Missouri. Besides her parents, Miss Clark was predeceased by her brother, Raymond; and sisters, Alma and Virginia. Funeral services and interment will be handled by the Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad Street, Milford, and at the convenience of the family.
