WARD, Doris Margaret March 11, 1911 - September 16, 2008 Doris Ward of Calgary passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the age of 97 years. Doris was born in Quebec in 1911 and moved to Loverna District, SK with her family. She married Elsworth Ward in 1930 and they lived on a farm near Esther, AB until moving to Youngstown in 1943. Doris and Elsworth moved to Calgary in 1968. Doris was a pioneer woman in every sense of the word. She owned the coffee shop in Youngstown and then managed the telephone office for many years until 1968 when she transferred to work with AGT in Calgary until her retirement. Doris is survived by her daughter, Audrey (Paul) Galway of Grande Prairie, AB; daughter-in-law, Eileen Ward of Hanna, AB; granddaughters, Cory Galway (Owen Nordmark) of Calgary, AB, and Maureen Galway (Scott Palmer) of Sherwood Park, AB; grandsons, Audie (Kelly) Ward of Hanna, AB, and Aaron (Heather) Ward of Red Deer, AB; great-grandchildren, Daelin and Bryn Nordmark, Samantha (Kyle) Schneyder, Alex Ward, Nick Ward, Jesse Ward, Michael Ward and Sasha Ward; as well as by great-great-grandchildren John and Jack Schneyder. Doris was predeceased by her husband Elsworth Ward; son Durward (Dewey) Ward; granddaughters, Glenna and Gaylene; and by her parents, two brothers and her nephew. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Family Graveside Service will be held at Queen's Park Cemetery.
