Doris Mae Nelson, 71, of Louisville, died Saturday, February 28, 2004, at Caritas Medical Center. She was the former Doris Mae Raney, born March 23, 1932, in Louisville. She was a retired waitress, had worked for Walgreen's and a Catholic by faith. She is survived by her husband, Edward L. Nelson; two brothers, Ronald E. (Ginger) and Robert L. Raney; two sisters, Teresa A. Grevers and Rosalee Lowery; and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Denis Catholic Church, 4205 Cane Run Rd., with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and noon-8 p.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., a family-owned and operated funeral home centre. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
