Obituary of Doris-M. Quinn


Doris M. Quinn, 95, St. Augustine, died April 29, 2004, at Flagler Hospital. She was a retired librarian and was born in Omaha, Neb. She worked in Omaha Public Library for 61/2 years and attended the University of Omaha.She received a B.S. in education from Boston State College in 1962. She also attended the University of New Hampshire for a Library Summer Session; Stonehill College, North Eastern Massachusetts; and Simmons College of Library Science, Boston, Mass., with credits toward a master's degree.She moved to Walpole, Mass., and worked at the Walpole Public Library, becoming director from 1957-1963. She transferred to the School Department Library in Framingham, Mass., where she worked with middle school young people for nine years before retirement in 1973. She was also a volunteer docent and assistant librarian at the Lightner Museum.She held a Professional Librarians and School Librarians Certificate from Massachusetts. She took the National Teachers Examination in 1962.She also wrote poetry and has received Honorable Mention from World of Poetry and Golden Poetry Awards. Her poems have been published by them and others and can be found on www.poetry.com .Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at San Lorenzo Cemetery with the Rev. Father William C.
