Doris Michael King, age 89, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011.Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 19, at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The service will follow at noon in the funeral home chapel.Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.Mrs. King was a member of Broadway Baptist Church, a graduate of Lexington High School and retired from ECM as a nurse.She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen King; brother, James Michael; sisters, Mildred Griffin and Joan Claire.Survivors include daughters, Patsy Johnson (Glenn), of Florence, Wanda Brewer, of Florence; son, Mike King (Vera), of Florence, Mark King (Terri), of Madison; sisters, Ruby McGee, of Lexington, Delsie Westbrook, of Florence, Naomi Jackson, of Nashville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.Special thanks to her caregiver, Helen Richardson, of Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home, and especially Frances.Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence, is directing.Please sign the guest register at sprywilliams.com.
