Doris-Louise Miller, born in 1932, daughter of Hoke and Eunice, died on December 15, 2007 at 75 years old.
Doris Louise Miller, 75, DeLand, died Sat., Dec. 15, 2007, at Florida Hospital DeLand. Doris was born in Miami and moved to this area in 2004 from Clermont. She was a gradute of Toccoa Falls Bible College, Toccoa Falls, Ga., a member of the Foreign Missionary Service, founder of the "Youth for Truth" Bible Club, and teacher of church ministries. She was a corrections officer from 1980 until 1982 and from 1985 until 1987 and a voluntary services coordinator for the Belle Glade Health Department from 1984 until 1985. She was the first female chaplain of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and for the Florida Department of Corrections and Chaplain GCI, March 27, 1987. Survivors include her daughters, Colleen Miller, Orlando, and Darleen Lee, Winter Garden; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Hoke Strickland and Eunice Strickland. Services will be held at Deltona Christian Missionary Alliance Church with the Rev. Mark O'Farra officiating.
