AUGUSTA -- Doris L. Patterson, 97, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Nursing Care at Gray Birch, Augusta.She was born in Augusta on Aug. 15, 1912, the daughter of Irving and Hanna (Morse) Lyon.She attended Augusta-area schools and had worked at several area greenhouses, including Butlers and Pattersons. She married Clarence Patterson in 1934 and celebrated 57 years of marriage until his death in 1991.She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence; a son, David Patterson; infant grandson Myron Patterson; grandson Jeffrey Stevens; a half-brother, Robert Wentworth; and a sister, Mildred McLern.She is survived by a son, Clarence "Bud" Patterson Jr., of Chelsea; a daughter, Marion Desrosier, of Augusta; and five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Visiting will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta.
