Doris Cooper King, age 93, of Lexington, MA, passed away on September 30, 2012. She was the daughter of Robert Cooper and Katherine (Johnson) Cooper of Toledo, OH, and the beloved wife of the late Jack King. Doris was born in Toledo, OH, on June 15, 1919. She graduated from Jesup W. Scott High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toledo. Doris was married to Jack King on August, 6, 1943; they were married for 41 years. They lived in North Muskegon, Michigan, and moved to Lexington, MA in 1985. Doris worked as a elementary school teacher for the North Muskegon Public Schools. She enjoyed playing bridge with her bridge club and taught her family many kinds of card games. She was recognized for her patriotic service to the success of the Second War Loan Drive. She was also actively involved in the American Association of University Women and a member of Hancock Church in Lexington, MA Doris is survived by her son Roger King, his wife Shirley King, her grandson Alex King, granddaughter Christina Bennani and great grandson Adam Bennani, and other family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Hancock Church. The family of Doris King wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and aides of Brookhaven for their care throughout the last few years.
