Doris K. Anderson April 26, 2011 Doris K. Anderson, 82, of Charlottesville, VA, formerly of Syracuse, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at her residence. Born June 1, 1928, in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Karl Friedrich Kaufmann and Antonia Maria Reisemann. Also predeceasing her was her husband, Robert C. Anderson, and her stepbrother, Henry Grimsman. Doris spent many years as an administrative assistant at Bristol-Myers Squibb and following that, at Carrols Corporation. She enjoyed doing volunteer work at WCNY/PBS in Syracuse, NY; the American Heart Association; and at Hospice of CNY in Liverpool, NY. In her spare time, she loved to quilt. Doris belonged to the Plank Road Quilt Guild in Cicero, NY. In addition to quilting, she also enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting and other crafts. Doris is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ringers, and her husband, Dirk, of Charlottesville, VA; her stepdaughter, Margaret Barone, and her husband, Martin, of Bernhards Bay, NY; a stepson, Robert Anderson of Syracuse, NY; her half sisters, Valerie Greenberg and her husband, Robert, of Portland, ME, and Jacqueline Gray of Raleigh, NC; as well as her stepsister, Caroline Baisch of Valhalla, NY; and six grandchildren, Matthew Barone of North Smithfield, RI, Amy Phillips, Tania Anderson and Robert Anderson of Syracuse NY, and Kyle and Brian Ringers of Charlottesville, VA. Doris has seven great-grandchildren, Marek and Lucie Barone-Benoit, Scarlett, Chetwhyn and Divina Phillips, Eliza Anderson and Raymond Anderson. She is also survived by a stepniece and several stepnephews. Doris's family would especially like to thank Gentle Shepherd Hospice for their loving care, with particular thanks to Kim Eckenroth, Dr. Aval Green and the many people at Our Lady of Peace who cared so kindly for her. The family would also like to thank, in Syracuse, Dr. Savici, Mary Ellen Apellaniz, Dr. Swankar and Linda Fingar, who provided her with loving support and medical care over the years.
