JOHNSON, DORIS JEANETTE, 76, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2010, at the Norton Hosparus Unit. She worked as a marketing specialist for General Electric for 38 years before retiring. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, William and Shelley Brown Laslie; sisters, Verda Gillingwater, Clara Aldridge and Ersie Pyle; and brothers, Leonard and Ervin Laslie. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, James E Johnson; her son, Gary E. Johnson (Nancy); niece, Loeta Galloway; and nephews, Lowell and Dwight Pyle. Funeral services will be held 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road. Burial will take place noon Wednesday in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial gifts to Hosparus of Louisville, 3532 Ephraim McDowell Dr., Louisville, KY 40205. "Mom, thank you for looking after Dad and I. We love you, - Gene, Gary, Sam, Leo, Bear, Charlie and all of the other animals you helped to raise and care for."
