BROCKTON Doris H. (Gray) Johnson, age 89 years, passed away Sunday, at Baypointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center, following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Ernest R. Johnson of Brockton. Born in Brockton, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Jennie (Scott) Gray. Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1937, and was a lifelong resident of the city of Brockton. She was a longtime member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brockton and a member of the Martha Guild, as well as a former Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, cooking, baking and sewing. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Deborah Johnson of Brockton; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mildred J. (Abercrombie) Jones, Alice G. (Abercrombie) Cudmore, Gladys J. (Gray) Allen, Blanche M. (Gray) Johnson and Lillian (Gray) Hodnett. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 26, at 10 a.m., at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 900 Main St., Brockton. Interment will follow the service in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4-7 p.m., in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton.
