->SKOWHEGAN -- Doris E. Henderson, 80, of Skowhegan, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at Cedar Ridge Center for Healthcare in Skowhegan.Doris was born Aug. 11, 1928 in Moose River, the daughter of Elwin and Yvonne (Vigue) Henderson.She graduated from Skowhegan High School, class of 1947.Doris worked 35 years for Norrwock Shoe Co., in Skowhegan and Norridgewock, managing their payroll. Subsequently, she worked in the office at Giffords Ice Cream factory and at the Skowhegan Somerset Credit Union. Thereafter she worked at Solon Manufacturing in Skowhegan until her retirement in the early 1990's.Doris loved to play cards, and also was a great music lover. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the coast with her best friend, Ramona Hewey.She is survived by two brothers, Bob Henderson of Norridgewock and Wayne Henderson and his wife, Charlene, of Belgrade; three nieces, Janet Henderson of Holliston, Mass., Lynn Bolduc of Bangor and Amy Strout of Glenburn; two nephews, David Henderson of Waltham, Mass. and Scott Henderson of Chicago; several great-nieces and -nephews; and a goddaughter, Jodie Murphy of North Chelmsford, Mass.Visiting hours will be on Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, ME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. at the Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church, Water St., Skowhegan, Me.
