Mrs. Doris Cox Taylor, age 68, wife of the late John Paul Taylor, of 6701 Highway 81 South, Starr, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Anderson Area Medical Center in Anderson. Born in Anderson March 27, 1933, Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Carlton C. Cox and the late Lucy Brown Cox. She was retired from Ingles Market, Inc. Surviving are her son, Tim Taylor; life partner, Chris Brown, of Duncan; four daughters, Rebecca Taylor of the home, Helen Fleming and her husband Terrell, of Hartwell, Ga., Angie Allen and her husband Marion, of Heidelberg, Germany, and Katie Taylor Lewis and her husband Lonnie, of Anderson; four grandchildren, Erin Fleming, Jake Fleming, Jeremy Allen and Hannah Lewis; three brothers, Charles Cox of Anderson, Frank Cox of Union and Lewis Cox of Lexington; and two sisters, Bessie Matthews of Starr and Barbara Giles of Aiken. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers; and three sisters. Services will be held in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, Friday, March 1, 2002, at 4 p.m., with the Revs. Gary Bill and Sam Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at New Silverbrook Cemetery in Anderson. The body is at The McDougald Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 on tonight, Feb. 28, 2002. The family will be at the residence, 6701 Highway 81 South, Starr.
