Retired Day Care Provider MARTINEZ, Ga. - Entered into rest July 14, 2003 at the residence, Mrs. Doris Ann Christian Simmons, wife of the late Mr. William Floyd Simmons. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, July 17, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dewain French officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the graveside. Mrs. Simmons was born in Athens, and was the daughter of Benjamin and Clela Christian who preceded her in death. She was a loyal and loving wife for 48 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a homemaker and day care provider where she opened her home to other children. She leaves all of us a legacy of love and will be dearly missed by those she left behind. Survivors include a son, Leonard Simmons, Martinez; two daughters, Pamela Sue Milles and Nancy Quilal-Lan of Martinez; one brother, Bobby Christian, Watkinsville; a sister, Gaylyn Davison, Tulsa, Okla.; seven grandchildren and one great- grandchild. Pallbearers are Roby Milles, Jesse C. Quilal-Lan, Jesse F. Quilal-Lan, Arren Quilal-Lan, Leonard A. Simmons, Jr., and Clay Christian. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Joseph Hospice Program, 2260 Wrightsboro, Road, Augusta, 30904 or the American Cancer Society, 2623 Washington Road, Augusta, 30904.
