Doris Elizabeth (Betty) ANDREWS(nee ARMSTRONG)Lifelong resident of East York, Doris passed away on October 8, 2015 at Toronto East General Hospital in her 91st year as a result of complications from an August surgery.Predeceased by her husband Donald Roy (1993), 5 of her 8 siblings and 9 of her 10 brothers and sisters-in-law and their respective spouses, and her son-in-law Rodney.Surviving are her 9 children, Stephen (Valerie), Alan, David (Dale), Heather, Dwight (Lynne), Donald, Sandra (Steve), Cheryl and Scott (Christina), brothers Alan and Jack (Anne) and brother-in-law Bruce (Noreen), 23 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a multiplicity of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.Doris was a loving, giving, caring, down to earth personality, loved and cherished mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt , friend and neighbour.Throughout the years, multiple sporting, civic and health organizations were the benefactors of her leadership, energy and volunteering spirit.In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral service and cremation has taken place. Graveside interment will be a private family occasion.A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus, Miller Lash House, 130 Old Kingston Road, between 1 and 5 p.m.
