Obituary of Doreen Johnson

JOHNSON, Doreen Luverne Bethune May 24, 1929 May 18, 2005 The circle of life was completed for our beloved friend, wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Doreen, at her home on Denman Island. Her husband, Robert Johnson, and children. Dawn and Lloyd were at her side. Doreen's graceful and loving spirit now joins her son, David Binnington, parents, John and Ada Bethune, and stepmother, Amy Bethune, to soar as an eagle in the sky. Doreen's love will continue to nurture her grandchildren, Andrew and Rebecca Jackson, Stephen, Shane and Emma Johnson, and Bernadette and Nadine Scudder; her sister, Denise Johnston; cousin, Jeanette Veale; and countless other friends and family. Doreen and her family wish to thank Drs. Doreen Tetz (angel) and David Scruton, nurse, Nettle DeVilliers, the BC Cancer Agency, and loving caregivers, Sue Rasmussen, Joy Lance and Bev Severn. Heartfelt thanks also go out to the community of Denman Island for all their kindness and support during Doreen's three years living with ovarian cancer. A private family service will be held at Doreen's church. Doreen's "party" to which ALL are welcome will be held Wednesday, June 1 from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the Denman Island Community Hall. In lieu of flowers donations to the National Ovarian Cancer Association, Denman Island United Church Piano Fund or Memorial Fund, Denman Island Medical Clinic Fund, or the charity of your choice.
