MARTELL, Donna Marie of Waterhen Lake First Nation born on March 15th, 1965 passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, July 17th, 2004 at the Meadow Lake Hospital. Donna has fought a courageous battle with cancer since being diagnosed June 3rd, 2003. She will be fondly remembered as a strong and independent woman, a loving daughter, sister, auntie, godmother, grandma and friend. Donna will be recognized for her faithfulness and participation in the Roman Catholic Church. Donna is survived by her mother, Mary Anne; sisters, Joanne, Liz (Max), Vivian, Judy (David), Pat (Marcel), Lisa (Gordon), Melina (Melvin), Mona (Greg); brothers, Alcide (Mary Jane), Donald, Marvin (Candice), and Schuyler; numerous nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles and friends. Her father, Edwin Joseph; sister, Sheila; grandparents, Bruno and Judile Martell, Martha Mistickokat and John Walker; aunties, Teresa and Violet, and uncle, Fred predecease her. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 20th, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Sylvain Lavoie officiating. Interment will be at Our Lady of Smiles Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in North Battleford. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jim Thomas of J.E Thomas Funeral Home.
