SKOWHEGAN -- Donna M. (Lessard) Anderson, 60, of Skowhegan, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 25, 2012.Donna was born on Dec. 8, 1951, in Brockton, Mass., to Arthur and Beatrice Lessard. She graduated from Brockton High School and moved to Maine in 1976. She married George Anderson on Aug. 10, 1986, at Moody Beach in Wells. Donna enjoyed working with numbers in professional settings, most recently at the state of Maine Department of Health and Human Services. She was well-liked, made friends easily, and her co-workers enjoyed her sense of humor.Donna felt passionate about standing up for those who were treated unfairly. She liked to peruse thrift and antique shops, searching for the next great treasure. She loved her home, especially being snuggled up with a good book and her family. She enjoyed being with kids; she was at her goofiest in their company. She had a great love of the ocean, and spent many vacations on the beaches of Maine and Cape Cod. She was exceptionally proud of her daughter, Sarah, who was the light of her life.Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Beatrice Lessard.She is survived by her husband, George Anderson, and her daughter, Sarah Anderson, both of Skowhegan; her sister, Gayle Miller and daughter, Malinda, of Bridgton; her eight sisters- and brothers-in-law; her step-children, Melissa, William and Madeline Anderson; her grandchildren, Zahri and Samantha; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Michele Currie, of Bristol, Conn.The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sat. Dec. 1, 2012, at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville, with Rev.
