Donna-Jean Davis, born in 1944, spouse of Richard Davis, daughter of Clarence and Doris-Kennison, mother of Candie, Lori, John, Nicole and Denielle, died. Please consult the obituary here:
DAVIS, Donna Jean 63, passed away Dec. 8 following a courageous battle with cancer. Donna was born Aug. 14, 1944, in Portland, ME, the daughter of the late Clarence and Doris Kennison Cressey. She grew up in Portland and graduated from Deering High School in 1962. She spent her life working as a bookkeeper and office manager. After her retirement, she had the privilege of volunteering at the Portland Head Light, one of her favorite places. Donna enjoyed cooking, crafts, playing cards and bingo, lighthouses, Sunday drives, and spending time with her dear friends in Maine, New York, and Florida. Although nothing made her glow more than the time she spent with her 11 grandchildren, Jacob, Celine, Sarah, Tyler, Alayna, Ryan, Jacob, Aiden, Cole, Ava, and Morgan. Her life will be carried on in the hearts of those she left behind: her husband of 25 years, Richard Davis; her daughters, Candie (Horton) Hazelton, of Portland, and Lori (Horton) Kenney, and husband, David, of Standish; her son, John Horton, and wife, Tricia, of Dunedin; and her step- daughters, Nicole Davis, of Florida, Denielle Christensen, and husband, Anthony, of Portland, and Angela Davis, of Georgia; and her grandchildren. Donna's family wishes to thank the loving, nurturing staff at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House; the Gibson Wing at MMC; the MCCC; VNA, along with her caring physicians, Dr. Kurt Ebrahim, Dr. Paul Sweeney, and Dr. Christine Freme. There will be no services at this time. A graveside burial will be held in the spring, at Evergreen Cemetery in Portland. Memorial contributions may be made in Donna's name to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, a division of Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 US Route 1, #1, Scarborough, ME 04074.
