In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Lova Sluder, Ruth Adamski, and brothers, Denver, Jack, and Conley Haney.Mr. Haney was a veteran of the U.S. Army.He is survived by his wife Shirley Anders Haney; son, Jeffrey Haney (Yvette), of Leicester; daughter, Pamela Haney McKinney (Jeff), of Asheville; grandchildren, Cristy Haney Brunner (Peter), Sam Haney, Mallory Haney Hall (Phil), Brooke McKinney, and Miranda McKinney Stewart (Zack); great-grandchildren, Oliver, Evana, Jett, and Stella; sisters, Helen Rogers and Wilma Taylor, of Asheville; and brothers, Earl Haney (Henrietta) of Weaverville, and Everette Haney (Nell), of Asheville.A funeral service for Mr. Haney will be on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Keith Watkins officiating. Military honors will be performed by the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard.
