Beloved husband of 51 years and best friend of Beth (McNair) Clark; dear son of the late Dr. Alexander Clark and Miranda Catharine Clark and brother of the late Douglas Clark of Kingston. Dear father of John Clark (Karen) of Flin Flon, Manitoba, daughter Cathy McIntosh (Douglas) of Unionville, Ont. and son Ian Clark of Ottawa. Don earned a Bachelor of Arts & Science and Masters of Education from Queen's University and was a proud Queen's University alumnus. He was an avid lover of the outdoors, the natural world and the sciences and a devoted educator of these to his own children and his students at Georgetown D.H.S. and T.A. Blakelock H.S. in Oakville. Don was an enthusiastic supporter of his children and grandchildren in their athletics and academics and of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, the Queen's Golden Gaels and the University of California at Berkeley football teams. Don will be remembered for his courage and strength, his sense of loyalty, honesty, equity and equality, his curious and challenging intellect and for his great wit and humour. He loved to laugh, particularly at his own jokes, and treasured and enjoyed his times with family, his fishing buddies and friends from Georgetown and his recent friendships from Kingston and Howe Island. Please join the family for a celebration of Don's life at the Robert J. Reid Funeral Home, 309 Johnson Street, Kingston at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 4th. Visitation will be held from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3rd and at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 4th. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Foundations, Queen's University, Trillium Gift of Life Network or a charity of choice would be most appreciated by the family. Thank you to all the staff at Kingston General Hospital and Providence St. Mary's on the Lake for their kind care and counsel.
