"Dee" McDonald, 87, formerly of Mobile, died at her home in Pensacola on Wednesday, September 12, 2007.During WWII Dee graduated from the University of Rochester, studied a year at the School of Journalism of Syracuse University and worked in public relations for Pan Am World Airways in Miami. Her career included being a reporter or editor for newspapers in Rochester NY, Wilmington NC, and Alexandria, LA. During the 1950's and 60's she covered the Mobile area for The Catholic Week. She was active in Catholic organizations until moving to Pensacola in 2005.She was preceded in death by son, Steven C. McDonald.She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Leo McDonald; daughter, Judy McDonald (Paul Schwejda) of Forest Grove OR; sons Bruce McDonald (Louise) of Pensacola and Allen McDonald (Patti) of Mobile; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.The Rosary will be prayed on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at 4:45pm with the visitation from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Monday, September 17, 2007 at St. Paul Catholic Church, with Fr. Doug Halsema, celebrant. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504.
