Dianne Comer Smith- Simmons SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mrs. Dianne Comer Smith- Simmons, 61, of 685 Archer Rd., died December 26, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home after a long illness. A native of Spartanburg County, she was the wife of Walter C. Simmons and daughter of the late James B. and Mary Patterson Comer. Mrs. Simmons was a member Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gramling, SC where she served as Deaconess. Mrs. Simmons was a former employee of Beaumont Mills of Spartanburg for many years. Mrs. Simmons leaves to cherish fond memories, one daughter, Minister Michelle Smith of Concord, NC; three sons, William Anthony (Clarissa) Smith of Duncan, SC, Wade M. Smith of Spartanburg, SC and John W. Smith of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Frances Jennette (Bennie) Miller and Barbara J. Kennedy both of Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, William Comer of Winston Salem , NC and Donald Comer of Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. The family is at the home of her sisters, Barbara Kennedy, 194 E. Fremont, Spartanburg, SC, and Frances Jennette Miller, 44 Thurgood Marshall Rd., Spartanburg, SC. Callaham-Hicks Funeral Home
