SMITH, Diane Elizabeth (nee Bain) After a courageous 2 year battle with cancer, Diane died peacefully at home with her family at her side on April 3, 2007. Predeceased by her mother Alice in 1969 and her father Cliff in 2004. Lovingly remembered by her soul mate and best friend Len and her children Becky (Garry), Kevin (Krista) and Greg (Jen). She told everyone she knew that she was so lucky" to be blessed with six precious grandchildren, Chynna, David, Allison, Darren, Tyson and Mariah. Also truly missed by her sisters, Jean (Allan), Doreen (Wayne), Audray (Bill), her stepmother Isobel, step-brother Stan (Sharon) and numerous nieces and nephews. Diane was born in Victoria on November 14, 1945 and grew up in Cobble Hill and Mill Bay. She married Len in 1964 and together they raised their 3 children in Lake Cowichan. Diane worked for BCFP/Fletcher Challenge/ Timber West in Caycuse for 24 years from 1979 to 2003 when she happily retired. Diane touched so many people with her heart of gold. The world was a better place with her in it. Sadly missed. Never forgotten. We love you. In lieu of flowers, Diane asked for the future health of her grandchildren a donation be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association in her name. A Memorial Service and tea will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday April 10th at the Lake Cowichan Community Hall. Condolences may be sent to: www.firstmemorialfuneral.com 356795
