Obituary of Diane Smith


SMITH Diane Marie ( nee O'Connell) of Nanoose Bay passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2004 , at the age of 34, with her devoted husband and family at her bedside. Diane is survived by her loving husband and best friend Darren andher beloved two young sons; Austin and Ryan, her father and mother; Larry and Joan O'Connell of Parksville and her brother Michael (Jennifer), sister Shannon (Robert) of Edmonton, parents-in-law; Bob and Sandy Smith of Nanoose Bay and sister-in-law Noni (Kerry) of Parksville, her niece and nephew, aunts and uncles, cousins and her Grandma Smith of Victoria. Her many friends will miss her. Unfortunately, Diane's wonderful spirit of life was shortened, but will live on in us forever. Special thanks to Dr. John Carr and Dr. G.A. Spry and all the nurses and staff in the Palliative Care in N.R.G.H. for their compassionate care and thanks also to the Hospice Society. Celebration of Diane's Life Service will be held on Friday, February 27th at 2:00 pm at St. Stephen's United Church, 150 Village Way Qualicum Beach with The Reverend Phil Spencer officiating.
