LEE, DIANE M. ZIPFEL, 73, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2012 at Baptist Hospital East. She was a native of Oak Harbor, OH and devoted her life to caring for others, retiring from Baptist Hospital East as a registered nurse. After moving to Louisville, she graduated from Atherton High School and then went to Ball State University where she received her Bachelors in Nursing. She was a member of Harvey Browne Memorial Presbyterian Church, Kentucky Nursing Association, and the Louisville Rose Society. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis R. "Dick" Lee in 2008. She is survived by her daughters, Susan M. Bomar and Alison H. Lee; her brother, Bill Zipfel (Janice); nephews, Tom Zipfel (Kim) and Bryan Zipfel, sister-in-law Marie Zimmerman; and many lifelong friends. She was a proud grandmother of Jamie Bomar, Amanda Bomar, and Lela Lee. Funeral service will be noon Friday at Pearson's , 149 Breckenridge Lane, with private burial Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday. Memorials to Harvey Browne Memorial Presbyterian Church.
