Obituary of Diane Gray


DOVER - Diane Gray, 64, of Dover, Friday, May 27, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 3, 1947, in Exeter, daughter of George Verville and Germaine (Dubois) LeBarge. She was raised in Rochester and spent most of her years in Dover. She attended Holy Rosary High School of Rochester and graduated from Dover High. She worked as an administrative assistant in the dean's office at the University of New Hampshire. She raised her children in Plymouth, where she also worked in the guidance department at Plymouth High School. Later in life, she worked for many years in the Seacoast, including a job as the congressional liaison at the National Passport Center in Portsmouth. Most recently, she worked at On Demand Imaging in Portsmouth. Her love for her children and family came first, and she could often be found at her grandchildren's events. Passions included cheering for the Red Sox, laughing often, and giving to others. She also enjoyed many years in Vermont with partner Ira Stevens. She will be remembered and admired for her perseverance and strength. She loved to learn and write and was a wiz at word games. She was most proud of her children. Daughter Kim is an educator at Dover Middle School. First son Keith is a geologist in western Idaho, and youngest son Kevin is a sports writer for the New Hampshire Union Leader. Members of her family include three children, Kimberly Conrad of Dover, Keith Gray of Moscow, Idaho and Kevin Gray of Bow; two brothers, George Verville of Newfields and Michael LeBarge of Lee; one sister, Dolores LaVallee of Dover; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. . IN HER LIFE: Members of her family also include son-in-law James Conrad of Dover; daughter-in-law Tareah Gray of Bow; six grandchildren, Adam Arkwell, Kimathi (Gary) Nkanata-Gray, Ethan Gray, Kathure Nkanata-Gray, Ella Rose Gray and Daniel Conrad; and sisters-in-law Kathie Verville of Newfields and Sheila LeBarge of Lee. . SERVICES: Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in The Parish of the Assumption, St. Joseph Church, 150 Central Ave., Dover. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Newmarket.
