Smith, Diane Emily Barbara BURNT HILLS, N.Y. Diane Emily Barbara Smith, 68, of Burnt Hills, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady with her loving family by her side. She was born on November 8, 1941 in the Bronx, N.Y., the only child of the late Norman and Elizabeth "Lily" Cole. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Craig Seminera and her daughter, Dell Keefe. Diane was a self-made professional in the business industry with a career that expanded over 40 years. For the last 19 years, she was the executive assistant to the president of Aquatic Development Group of Latham. As the matriarch in her family, she was a woman of great strength that was the anchor who bonded the generations. She was admired by all who met her as a nurturing and caring woman with wit, charm and humor. She will be missed very, very much but her smile and laughter will be remembered forever. A loving mother and wife, Diane is survived by her husband of 39 years, James D. Smith; Mom Isabel Smith of Scotia; her children, Dawne Larkin of Ballston Spa, Deanna Freridge of Virginia Beach, Va., Dianne Stalker of Schenectady, Cheri Friello of Rotterdam, Debra Bernadine of Tampa, Fla., and James Smith of Colonie; 11 grandchildren, Danica, Kyle, James, Lily, T.C., Hillary, Conner, Dominick, Christopher, Mathew, and Jacob; two great-grandchildren, Ian Cole and Kalien Linden; brother-in-law, Mike and Joanne Smith of Murphy, N.C.; sister-in-law, Pamela Mann of Amsterdam, and lifelong friend, Jesse Cameron of Rotterdam. A private memorial service celebrating her life will take place for her family and close friends at the end of April.
