Diane Clark, born in 1958, spouse of Paul Clark, died on September 19, 2009. Please consult the obituary here:
CLARK , Diane (Bach Thuy) July 7, 1958 - September 19, 2009 Diane passed away on September 19, 2009 at the Foothills Hospital after a courageous battle with an aggressive form of cancer. After a period of extreme and frustrating pain, she left this world without pain and in a state of absolute serenity with her beloved spouse and children clasping her hands. We feel extremely grateful that many of her friends and family had an opportunity to speak or write to her in her final days and express their love, admiration and gratitude for her. Diane was a unique person who is difficult to describe in words but, if words are used to describe her they would include loving, caring, sincere, generous, strong-willed, iconoclastic, independent, resourceful, dedicated, true, vivacious and humourous. We are sure that her spirit has moved on to a better place while simultaneously lodging itself in the hearts of all who knew and cared about her. Diane escaped Vietnam as an extremely young girl, immigrating to Canada where she first lived in Medicine Hat and Toronto before finally settling in Calgary. Diane fully embraced Canadian life while all the while not forgetting her Vietnamese heritage. Her close friends, and there were many, were a diverse and eclectic group of people from Asian, Canadian and other cultures. She loved, and excelled, at golf, baseball and tennis, and was a crafty fisherman. Diane's serious injuries in a motor vehicle accident in 1989 led to a relentless search on her part for treatment which, in turn, led her to obtain certification in massage therapy, neuromuscular therapy, acupuncture and numerous other natural health modalities. She also developed an ingenious assortment of her own treatment modalities, which in conjunction with her compassion, generosity and practical wisdom, provided relief, comfort and healing to many people in Calgary and elsewhere. In addition to her work as a healer, Diane also sponsored the construction and/or expansion of several schools in southern rural Vietnam. It was her wish that this charitable work continue after she is gone. Diane and her family are grateful for the genuinely caring and understanding medical care she received from various nurses and doctors during the last weeks of her life at the Foothills Hospital. Diane is survived by her husband Paul, her daughter Marisa, her son Lucas, eight brothers and sisters, numerous other relatives and friends. Everyone who knew her misses her deeply, but carries animated and loving memories of her in their hearts. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
