COURTNEY Denise (nee Finnegan), 59, of Rochelle Park, formerly of New York, NY, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, March 22, 2014 leaving her family and friends much too early. Before retiring Denise worked for the Township of Rochelle Park for 17 years as a Crossing Guard caring for the children of this Township. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Rochelle Park. Cherished wife of William Courtney of Rochelle Park. Devoted mother of Megan Gonzalez and her husband Devin of Maywood and Michael Courtney of Rochelle Park. Dear sister of Michelle Wunderlich and her husband Arthur and Susan Finnegan. Beloved aunt of Scott Wunderlich and Nicole Mills. Denise was predeceased by her parents Warren and Theresa (nee Downs) Finnegan. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 2 - 4 PM and 7 - 9 PM at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home followed by a 11:00 am Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart R.C.
