Obituary of Deaconess-McQueen-Mary Louise


McQUEEN-Mary Louise, Deaconess, the daughter of the late Millie and Isaac Lewis, was born June 29, 1942 in Greenwood, SC. On January 3, 2005. God in his infinite wisdom, called her from her earthly labor to his Heavenly reward. She was educated in the Ware Shoals School system of South Carolina. "Jean" as she was affectionately called by many, relocated to New York in the late 1950's. On July 26, 1960 she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Glennie R. McQueen of Moncks Corner, SC. The union was blessed with five children. Mary enjoyed her family and friends and often facilitated laughter among them. Her generosity and compassion touched many lives. Her husband Glennie R. McQueen preceded her in death on July 9, 2004 and her eldest grandson, Arlo A. Tutein, III preceded her in death and they are now reunited in Heaven. She leaves to cherish fond memories and continues her legacy one son, Michael (Anissa) McQueen of Amityville, NY, four daughters, Mary D. Felton of Greenwood, SC, Kathy (Arlo, Jr.) Tutein of Greenville, SC, Lisa A. (Victor) Starling of Dix Hills, NY, Chantay (Leon) Logan of North Babylon, four grandsons, Cedric Tutein, Trisopher Tutein, Malachi Walls, all of Greenville, SC, Victor Staring, Jr. of Wheatley Heights, NY, three granddaughters, Nortarshia (Gregory) Hardy of Buffalo, NY, Porchia D. Donaldson of Buffalo, Jessica Logan of North Babylon, NY, two great-grandchildren, Djai Baker and Nasir Hardy of Buffalo, NY, two brothers Marvin (Mildred) Lewis of Wyandanch, NY, James Carol Lewis of Honea Path, SC, two sisters, Mable Lewis of North Babylon, NY and Ruby Fisher of Queens, NY, four brothers-in-law, William A. Davis, Herman (Elease) Davis, Jerome (Lora) McQueen, all of Moncks Corner, SC, Melvin (Emma) McQueen of Amityville, NY, five sisters-in-law, Mildred Lewis of Wyandanch, NY, Emma McQueen, Clara Greene and Maggie Mae Simmons of Moncks Corner, SC, Katherleen Haney of Summerville, SC and Vallie Mae Burns of Bainbridge, GA, a very special girlfriend Rita Borchers of Bay Shore, NY and many friends of North Babylon, Wyandanch and Huntington. Maurice and Nathaniel Arvon, a host of special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Family and friends may visit at the Claude R. Boyd-Caratozzolo Funeral Home, 1785 Deer Park Ave., Deer Park, NY on Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 PM. Funeral service on Friday at the Hollywood Baptist Church at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the National Kidney Foundation.
